Truth and Honesty: The EvSOP Business Model
Darius the Great, the fourth and greatest Achaemenid Empire emperor (522–486 BC), is known for his wisdom and leadership. At a time during his reign when he faced new challenges, he asked three of his princes what in his entire empire was the greatest thing. One prince wrote wine, for it had the potential to alter people and their actions. The second prince, seeking to curry favor with Darius, wrote that the King was the greatest. The third prince, obviously a sagacious person, wrote, ‘Women are strongest, but above all things, Truth beareth away the victory.’ This profound statement
underscores the significance of Truth in leadership, inspiring us all. The Philosopher Plato was known for referencing the statement “Truth beareth away the victory.” And Martin Luther, a figure of immense influence, emphasized the idea that
Truth ultimately prevails over all other forces. His emphasis suggests that honesty and integrity are the strongest attributes in life, providing us with a reassuring belief in the enduring power of Truth.
There are many organizations and associations that hold fast to their missions to serve the public trust by holding to truth and honesty in their business foundations. Regrettably, for a few are not so. They forget that truth in in their dealings always brings the victory.
The Environmental Services Optimization Playbook (EvSOP) was founded on the bedrock of truth and honesty being their foundations. Truth to holding to the science of cleaning, disinfection, infection prevention basics and honesty in dealing with everyone they serve. EvSOP does not promise what cannot be attained nor they do not offer unscientific solutions to
unrealistic requests that cannot be attained.
Their business model is heavily dependent upon relationship building, listening, asking questions of team members at every level of the operation. EvSOP believes in, and practices what is missing in so many relationships: employing active listen skills and not pushing agendas, even management agendas that are unrealistic and unscientific.
The EvSOP playbook looks to include all stakeholders regardless of the size of the stake. They believe that a truthful, honest, and scientific solution is within everyone’s reach, provided the interest offered is genuine, the challenges are fully disclosed, the organization has a genuine interest in improving their operation and outcomes and is willing to listen to
suggestions from a multidisciplinary cadre of professionals who will very often look outside of traditional methods and embrace science and change.
EvSOP will not embellish, it will not flatter, nor will it set aside ideas offered by people not traditionally in roles of leadership or decision making. As Daris sought solutions, not flattery, EvSOP often looks to a different resource pool to attain success: “above all things, Truth beareth away the victory.’
